Current Watch Feature (Today)
PonoRez currently offers a Watch feature that suppliers can toggle on/off per reservation. When enabled, it changes the reservation name color to help staff quickly identify certain booking conditions. In addition, some scenarios automatically apply a color:
- Red: Reservation created via API by an agency’s customer
- Orange: Reservation created by an agency user in the PonoRez Agency Portal
- Green: Reservation created by a supplier staff member who is in training
Why We’re Changing It
As fraud attempts increased, we needed a more flexible approach than a simple “Watch on/off” indicator. Specifically, we require additional risk/attention signals for bookings, as well as multiple indicators.
The existing Watch feature was binary (on/off) and limited to a single visual state. It did not support multiple flags or varying levels/types of attention. As a result, the Watch feature has been replaced by Reservation Tags.
New Reservation Tag Feature
Core functionality for displaying and managing Reservation Tags was initiated 9 months ago, and Phase 1 of this new Tag Feature will be uploaded this weekend.
Phase 1: What’s included
Auto-assigned Tags will be applied as “non-hidden” to reservations by default.
The Reservation page will display all Tags assigned to the reservation, (except those that are hidden).
The Reservation and/or Edit Reservation page will include UI to manage Tags (sample image on left), add/remove “Watch” andhide/show auto-assigned Tags.
Reports show customer names in Tag colors as well enhanced to also display.
Tags appear before the customer’s name for all non-hidden Tags assigned to the reservation.

2026 Enhancements (Planned)
- New Auto-Assigned Tag for a suspicious Reservation, related to Fraud activity.
- Bookings from known fraudster email domains andBookings where the reservation name does not match the name on the credit card.
- Incorporate Tags into custom reports.
- Allow suppliers to create custom Manual Supplier defined Tagswith add/remove.

Q: A supplier asked if Agency users logged in via their company-specific PonoRez Agency Portal see these tags.
A: No they do not. These tags are solely for the purpose of PonoRez Suppliers. If a supplier wants to attach a message that the agency can view they may want to put this in the shared comment section.
